Affordabilty
LED & Real Neon are almost the same price. LED is 5%-10% cheaper as it does not last as long. LED is a great cheap alternative for events or functions where the longevity of the sign is not required!
Durability
LED is made from Silicone & PVC. Real Neon is made from glass. If you want a transportable sign, LED would be the preference but most signs are not made to be transportable. The Life span of traditional neon is 10+ years. LED can be up-to 5.5 years but most Online Neon shops use cheap LED’s that will not last more that 18 months.
Power Savings
This comes down to longevity & performance. LED are more cost efficient if you compare them to real Neon running a commercial grade power supply. With advancement in technology & depending on the application we run our neon on high frequency transformers, that run as efficiently as LED.
Safety
Traditional Neon is as dangerous a bed side lamp. LED is low voltage, but so can Real Neon. Neon can be run on 12v power supplies the same as LED. The glass is as breakable as your TV screen, your windows, your lamps, light bulbs or a drinking glass.
Neon Signs are electric signs made by filling glass tubes with rarefied neon or other gases. The tubes are placed under high vacuum & electrically charged to activate the gases. Neon signs are often used by shops, artists & architects due to the wide colour range and long life span.
NO. These are two very different ways to make illuminated signs. LED’s are quick, simple and easy to make, they are cheap & require very little skill to make. Most online “Faux Neon Sign” Shop get there Faux Neon made in China. LED’s don’t last very long compared to real Neon. Real Neon Signs are made from glass tube & are handmade, neon bending takes years of skill & dedication to master.
LED Neon is not Neon, its actually LED Flex. There are several styles of LED flex, LED encased with Silicone or PVC. Many cheap LED Flex does not last long. We custom make our LED flex using premium grade LED’s. Neolite’s LED have a 5 year warranty & are made for harsh commercial environmental conditions in Australia. LED does not like being encased, it needs to “breath” or have some airflow to help it cool, as LED modules get very hot. We make LED Flex or Faux Neon and traditional Neon Signs. We don’t use overseas manufactures to make our LED Signs, they are all made right here in Australia.
